About this book
Daniel Thorsen was an LAPD detective for nineteen years, eleven of them in homicide. He quit six years ago, after the Marisol Reyes case was closed from above, and has not had a fixed address since. His great-grandfather came over from Norway in 1890 and stayed; the name and the build are what is left of it.
He comes back to Los Angeles for one day, to bury his old partner, Ray Okafor. The department says Ray shot himself. Thorsen reads the scene and does not believe it.
What Ray was working on in retirement leads back to the Reyes file, and to the people who closed it.
